Understanding Keysearch Metrics

There are some Keysearch metrics you need to understand, especially if you’re a beginner.

Here are some metrics to understand.

Search volume: This is the number of times people search for a particular word in a month.

CPC (Cost Per Click): This is the amount that Google requires advertisers to pay to get their ads clicks.

PPC ( Pay per click) Amount the advertiser pay per ad click

Difficulty Score: The scores that tell you if the keyword is easy or difficult to rank. For example, a keyword with 20 scores is easier to rank than 25.

Finding Keywords with KeySearch

Now that you understand the keyword metrics, let learn how to use the Keysearch to find low keywords, which is our main goal for this post.

Step1: Brainstorm Keywords Ideas

The first step is to brainstorm your keyword idea. If you already have a keyword for your blog post, you may jump to this step.

What Keysearch brainstorm does is to find related keywords from Google, Bing, Yahoo and YouTube.

For example, if the primary keyword is “dog food”.

You can use the Keysearch to explore related keywords and suggestions.

Head to Keysearch >> Keysearch >> Brainstorm.

Add your primary or seed keyword in to the search bar and click search.

For example, I want to write a blog post about dog food.

I need to find related keywords and also keywords that can easily rank on Google.

When I type my seed keyword, dog food, below is the results.

brainstorm Keyword dog

It generates related keywords from Google, Bing, Yahoo and YouTube.

You don’t need to worry about keyword competition, volume, and score.

We only need to find as many related keywords to expand our search.

NOTE: You can copy all the keywords into a spreadsheet and save it.

Step 2: Eliminate highly competitive Keywords

In this step, we will do more keyword research to remove high competitive keywords that we don’t stand a chance to rank on search engines.

From Keysearch to keyword research >> quick difficulty

Click on the small rectangle to open a pop-up where you can paste up to 50 keywords.

Copy the keywords you save in step one, and paste them into the pop-up, then click search.

The left side of the page shows the results for all the keywords you added, along with the difficulty score, volume, and CPC.

Don’t forget to select your LOCATION.

quick difficulty

All the keywords in RED are the most difficult keywords to rank, you can delete them.

What you need to do is to filter them.

Locate the filter at the top right-hand side and click on it. A pop-up will appear where you can input the keyword difficulty score you prefer.

For example, I can choose from 10 to 25 scores.

FILTER DIFICULTY SCORE

The higher the number, the more is difficult to rank for the keywords.

But if your site or blog is in the same niche with your keyword, there is a tendency to rank for such keywords.

Alternatively, look for most relevant keywords in BLUE AND GREEN and copy them into the notepad and save it.

QUICK DIFFICULTY FILTER

Step 3: Refine All the Keywords

It is time to refine the keywords to that you can find low competition and long tail keywords that are easy to rank on Google.

Then you can sort keywords by volume, difficulty, number of words, check SERP analysis etc

From Keysearch >> Keyword research>> Keyword research.

Type your keyword into the search bar and click search. Select your location; you can target US,UK, etc or all locations.

For example, my keyword is “badlands ranch dog food”.

So, I type badlands ranch dog food., and then hit search. From the left side, the result will display based on the volume and Keyword difficulty score.

NOTE: From food dog>> Badlands Ranch dog food

Analyse the keywords

From the results, does the keyword have enough volume, and do you have a chance to rank on the first page?

The volume will provide number of the searches per month. This is estimation, and may not 100% accurate. Even other expensive keyword tools like Semrush and Ahfers do not have accurate search volume.

The keyword difficulty score will tell you if the keyword is easy to rank or difficult.

I will advise you not to always choose keywords based on volume and difficulty scorealone, consider also, the traffic potential.

It also depends on your website’s domain authority, which plays an important role in page ranking.

Step 4: Analysing Competitors

Now that you have a low competition keywords that you want to rank for, before you create the content, make sure to check top 10 results for the keyword.

So far, a keyword has a difficulty score of 20, does not mean you can rank on the first page if there are authority sites in the top 10 Google results.

For the keyword badlands ranch dog food, the search shows the top 5 results.

top 5 results

I have seen many cases where low DA sites rank higher than high authority sites.

As you can see from the image above, the keywords are easy to rank for, and the competition is not high.

You can now save your keywords into the list or copy them.

NOTE: If there are many authority sites rank on the first page for your chposen keyword,it may be difficult to outrank them.

Keyword Lists

The Keysearch make it easy for users to manage their keyword list.

You can save your keywords, exporting or copy and paste them to somewhere.

Go to the keyword research to access the list, then click My List.

You will find all the keywords you have saved there. You can also filter and export from the list.

Now that you have performed keyword research and found some low-cost keywords for your blog post, it is time to plan the content.

Step 5: Optimise your content

Before you hit publish, optimising your content using Keysearch content assistant is very important.

This is a great feature to help you include some secondary keywords to the content.

Not only that, it will show you other related keywords that help other content to rank on search engines.

Optimising your content for SEO is important, but writing for humans is crucial to engage your readers.

At the top, locate Content Assistant, then click on it to open the editor.

Copy your article and paste your content, then type your keyword in the search bar at the left side.

Keysearch will bring all the related keywords and words to optimise your content.

The left side shows the average word count of blog posts on the first page.

You will see all the recommended keywords. You must optimise your content with those keywords without diluting it.

This step will guide you to optimise your blog post for SEO, and improve the chance to rank on the first page.

Step 6: Raise and Repeat

We are almost done. You can repeat all the above steps for any keyword research to find low-hanging keywords that are easy to rank on the first page of Google.

Always start with the seed keywords.if you already have a list of keywords, you can use Quick Difficulty to check their difficulty score, and then filter them to have low keywords for your content.
